Published by Intourist, the state-run travel agency, this poster invites on foreigners to "Visit the Soviet Union -the birthplace of world's first cosmonaut." While not necessarily advertising something for tourists to see, promoting the Soviet space program would certainly have been good propaganda. The image employs the trace-lines of elliptical flight paths, the Kremlin, Red Square, a Soviet star and a cosmonaut, either in space or celebrating his victorious return to Earth. Russian version.
